New record of participation in the Jesús Medrano Awards – City of Castellón
The jury of the fourteenth edition of the Jesús Medrano Awards-City of Castellón, a Christmas card contest promoted by the cultural association of the same name, will meet next Wednesday 17 to select the winning postcards of a contest based on the values of inclusion, sensitivity and solidarity. The work of the jury is more complicated every year due to the succession of records in the reception of cards, which on this occasion has reached the figure of 7,651, setting a new historical maximum and exceeding by more than a thousand the previous limit, of 6,537 postcards. The award ceremony will be on Saturday, February 3 at 5 pm at the Auditorium Palace of Congresses of Castellón.
In addition to the awards, which will be presented at a gala that will take place in the coming weeks, every year one of the cards serves the City Council of Castelló to wish a Merry Christmas to the Castellonians, not in vain the contest shines in its name that of the city. The contest has achieved in recent years a relevant international dimension, receiving postcards from different countries of the globe, on this occasion from Brazil or the United States, Puerto Rico, Poland, Argentina or Italy, in addition to betting on an inclusive character through specific categories for people with special needs and disabilities. For the rest, the contest has captured participation from the rest of the Spanish autonomous communities and more educational centers and more hospitals than ever.
In the contest, institutions and collaborating companies participate whose complicity is essential for the contest, from the Tourism of the Valencian Generalitat to the Association of Neighbors Zona Centro de Castellón, passing by the City Council of Castelló, the Provincial Council, the General Directorate of Linguistic Policy of the Generalitat, Dávalos Fletcher Foundation, Cajamar, Pfizer, Carrefour Castellón, Escolofi, Librería Argot, Coca-cola, PubliValencia, Mudanzas Paco Valls, Pirotecnia Peñarroja, Tuix&Ross, Ibertic and A1F Sport.
